As part of the run up to Well Theatre Festival, costumier Anna Dixon will be running a number of workshops focusing on particular aspects of costume design. You can learn all the different techniques that go into designing and making a stage costume and your finished items will be used as part of the Wells Theatre Festival production of Romeo & Juliet. Once the run has ended, you will get to keep your items as a memento of this year’s festival.

Anna Dixon

After completing a degree at Dartington College in devising, performing and writing theatre, Anna began to take an interest in how costume can be a valuable tool when devising a production. Then grew a fascination in how a character can be revealed through simply the cloth on their backs and she began to play with the design and construction of costume for performance. After undertaking a postgraduate course in costume in 2010 she began her career as a costumier.
