We were so sad to hear about the death of our wonderful local patron Jim Cellan Jones, at the age of 88.
Jim joined the BBC in 1955 and worked his way up to be head of plays and a leading director, with dozens of television film and drama credits, notably The Forsyte Saga (1967) and Fortunes of War (1987).

He was a passionate supporter of his local Wells Theatre Festival, and was an inspiration for us and our actors. He was incredibly witty and a fabulous story teller, and we will all miss him. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
