INSPIRATION AND GUIDANCE

Our production of Much Ado About Nothing is set in the time of the first world war. The plot centres round a trick played on the leading characters – Beatrice and Benedick.

Beatrice and Benedict are old sparring partners with not a good word to say about each other. They both vow they will never marry and most certainly NOT each other.

Indeed, their friends and family know only too well that if they were married a week, ‘they would talk themselves mad’.

And yet for sport, they plot to make the pair fall in love with each other with a trick in which Benedick overhears his friends talking of Beatrice’s ‘secret love’ for him….
