Wells Theatre Festival is also planning a semi-professional world premiere of a new audio immersive production, Feed, which alongside another visiting professional production will complete the Festival line up this year.

Complementing the current Wells Literary, Arts, Comedy and Food festivals, the Wells Theatre Festival aims to attract a theatre-going public of all ages, whilst also encouraging young people to participate in theatre practice. Oscar winning actress, Dame Judi Dench and renowned director, Sir Richard Eyre are patrons for the festival.

We’re always looking for new acts and actors to take part in our productions. Find out more here.

We are lucky enough to have some great photos from previous years’ festivals. Have a look at them here.

We are delighted to have Dame Judi Dench and Sir Richard Eyre as our patrons.

Come and help out at the festival. We need people who love theatre to join us back and front of house.

The 2020 festival was cancelled due to the Covid outbreak, but we are returning in October 2021. We’d like to thank all of the performers who participated in 2019, and we’d also like to thank all of the people who came out and supported live theatre and gave us such nice feedback on the performances they saw.

We are currently putting together a list of performers for next year and will let you know as soon as we can about the artists involved. If you’d like to be involved, please get in touch. Follow Wells Theatre Festival on Twitter and Facebook to get news of tickets and events for 2021. Wells Theatre Festival is proud to support Anthony Nolan.
