The Mushroom Show

Augustine Fogwoode might be the world’s MOST enthusiastic mushroom enthusiast! She is on a quest to make sure everyone knows about the brilliance of fungi: their amazing abilities and scientific superpowers.

But it’s just her and her puppet friend Goldie. She might just need a few more fun-guys to make it happen.

Join the party and discover how fungi grow, connect and help the natural world, including us humans. Packed full of interactive games, playful music and lots of laughs for all the family, The Mushroom Show is one person's mission to build a community… and maybe it’ll become your mission too?

Critically acclaimed Scratchworks Theatre fuses their signature style of physical comedy, audience interaction and family theatre with the world of fungi. Supported by Arts Council England, Doorstep Arts, Libraries Unlimited, Beaford, Unity Trust + The University of Plymouth.

Award winning Scratchworks Theatre Company brings together science, music and participatory activities for whole families to experience together.

You’ve heard of the animal kingdom, with tigers and sharks and humans too…?And the plant kingdom, with trees and flowers and grass?
But there is a kingdom full of mysteries……FUNGI!
There are blue ones and spotty ones and smelly ones!

The Mushroom Show is Scratchworks’ latest production and is a family show for ages 5+.

The Mushroom Show explores the brilliant world of fungi, what they can do, and what we humans can learn from their brilliance, but… we need your help to do so!

Blending audience interaction, games, original music and physical storytelling, Augustine (our mushroom enthusiast!) will take us back to nature, to show us the importance of community and how we can ask for help.

The Mushroom Show will also come with a post-show workshop for everyone to get involved!

This show is aimed Primary School Children from Reception to Yr 6.
